This natural space offers multiple recreational alternatives for visitors, including sport fishing, allowed between October 16 and March 15 with the corresponding permits from the National Fisheries Service (Sernapesca). The activity can be carried out around the lagoon perimeter, approximately 14 km, and at the San Juan river outlet, where it is possible to catch brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis)
Additionally, the reserve has accessible trails for hiking excursions, such as Chorrillo Hermoso, Tres Morros, and Las Hualas. It also has 13 equipped sites for camping and family activities, with infrastructure adapted for people with reduced mobility, including public restrooms with ramps and handrails.
