To access the natural monument, which is near a condominium, it is necessary to contact the park ranger on duty at the cell phone +56985702388. You can also coordinate your visit with the Information, Complaints and Suggestions Office (OIRS) at the email loslagos.oirs@conaf.cl. Since the gate is 3 km from the unit, opening may take from ten to forty minutes, depending on staff availability.
The larch forest located in the natural monument is the oldest in the Central Valley currently preserved. It is situated on volcanic soils of the ñadis type, that is, very wet. It has a cold picnic area, parking beach, and restrooms. Its trail, El Chucao, is inclusive or universally accessible with a ramp and wooden walkway 600 linear meters long and 1.07 meters wide, with a bathroom enabled for people with physical disabilities at the trail entrance, plus guides for blind people. Its access ramp is 1.60 m wide.
