This reserve stands out for its relic tamarugo forests in the middle of the desert, as well as the country's largest forest plantation of the same species, and the stromatolites in the Llamara salt flat, structures considered the oldest evidence of life on the planet. It offers interpretive trails, wildlife and flora adapted to the arid environment, and archaeological sites, highlighting the Pintados geoglyphs.
