The registration must be done at the Visitor Center, which is accessed via route X-83 (Baker entrance) approximately 28 km north of Cochrane.

This park hosts one of the highest levels of biodiversity in the region, forming a natural corridor between immersed valleys. Its spectacular landscapes include the Patagonian steppe, mountain ranges, lagoons and lakes, accompanied by lenga and ñire forests that host active wildlife and an ancestral culture rich in archaeological sites. Three types of landscapes can be distinguished: Patagonian mountain range, transverse ranges and valleys, and Patagonian plains.
