To carry out activities on the Base Torres trail, you must go with an authorized guide. This measure will be in effect from April 27 to August 30, 2026, inclusive. Here is the complete list of authorized guides.

The mountain circuit (better known as La W) will remain closed during June and July. It is reiterated that only the Base Torres trail with authorized guides will remain operational. People interested in hiking the trail during this closure period may request an exceptional authorization. For this, they must coordinate with accredited tour operators and submit their request and company background to the CONAF Magallanes Regional Office.

We recommend downloading the Regulations for tourist activities under winter conditions in Torres del Paine National Park and following its instructions.

The closure of the Macizo Paine circuit (La O) was brought forward until October 31, 2026.

It is world-renowned for the massifs that give it its name, granite giants shaped by the force of glacial ice.

In 1978 it was declared a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Program.

Its main attraction is the Paine mountain range, an independent mountain system from the Patagonian Andes, composed of sedimentary rock at the highest part and granite at the base. Its imposing shapes were molded by the advance and retreat of glaciers over twelve million years ago.

The park is home to wild animals and unique subantarctic flora. Its biodiversity attracts scientists and researchers from around the world, who study its seventeen ecosystems.

The spectacular and varied landscape makes Torres del Paine National Park the main regional tourist attraction and one of the most outstanding in the country and the world. A wide range of ecotourism activities can be carried out here such as camping, hiking, mountaineering, boating, river rafting, glacier trekking, horseback riding, and documentary filming.
