The reserve offers a combination of steppe landscapes and ñire forests. Its hiking trails stand out for allowing the exploration of rich biodiversity. Additionally, it is closely linked to the history of the regional capital of Magallanes, whose forest was the source of firewood and water for the mineral coal deposit of Punta Arenosa, discovered in 1843.

It is an ideal destination for ecotourism, offering panoramic views and an immersive experience in the southern nature.
